I'm trying to figure out whether it's possible to merge multiple MS Word documents into one 'master document'. Context is that we have many separate board reports that need to be compiled together into a single document, then PDF'd for executive reporting and review.

I can't get this to work unfortunately. Need to be honest here and say if you're trying to merge documents into a single document, it's not really a valid approach. How about inserting 2 or 3 but not 20 or 30 documents by Text from File first and check the result?
